John has just been confirmed as support for The Wonder Stuff April dates.
The band are touring the country performing the classic “Hup” album in its entirity.

“I saw The Wonder Stuff at Dingwalls in 1986/7 they weren’t signed but remember thinking that’s one fucking tight band!! It was like getting hit by a wall of guitars and madness. Angry and humorous at the same time. Clash meets the Stones!. When Eight legged Groove Machine came out I thought Yeh you got it guys. Still got the record. Still sounds cool. Supporting them is going to be a trip.”

John McKeown fans are in for a treat at forthcoming performances. Acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Ed Harcourt will be joining McKeown’s band for the upcoming London shows.


Ed Harcourt’s debut album , Here Be Monsters, earned him a Mercury Prize nomination in 2001. He has since established himself as a hugely respected artist, sharing the stage with the likes of R.E.M., Snow Patrol, Wilco, Supergrass and Norah Jones to name a few.


John McKeown and Ed Harcourt first worked together during the recording sessions for McKeown’s debut album, When You’re Real. Harcourt’s piano playing can be heard on ‘Treat You Like a Woman’, currently streaming on McKeown’s myspace page, last.fm and website.

John McKeown has just returned from New York where he was overseeing the mastering of his debut album. The album was mastered by the legendary Howie Weinberg, who has worked with pretty much every significant rock band imaginable including Muse, Jeff Buckley, Tom Waits, Wilco, Sheryl Crow, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins.

John McKeown has secured the support slot for a sold-out Andrew Roachford show at Madame JoJo’s. John will be showcasing material from his forthcoming debut album in a stripped-down acoustic performance.
